StorAI: Designing Ethical Applications with LLMs for Mental Health

In today’s world, therapists face numerous challenges: overwhelming caseloads, a lack of effective digital tools to streamline their workflow, and an untrustworthy AI landscape that often exploits personal data for profit. To make matters worse, there are currently no legal protections in place to ensure the safe and ethical use of emerging digital tools by therapists and their patients.

StorAI, through its proposed handoff model, offers a practical and thoughtful solution to this gap at the intersection of mental health, technology, and trust. This conceptual application aims to empower therapists without compromising their ethical standards or the trust of their patients. By fostering dignity and respect in patient care, StorAI supports a more secure and humane approach to mental health tools in the digital age.
