Sidewalker

Sidewalker is a software platform to monitor and assess the status of public sidewalks using an app to collect and process large volumes of images for cloud machine learning to identify hazardous damage. Sidewalker empowers individuals to contribute to the monitoring of their neighborhood’s walkways and provides a web interface to manage and prioritize locations for maintenance.

Sidewalks are great when in tip top shape. However, sidewalks do break down, and if left unattended can lead to serious injury.

What if we made it possible for people to automatically assess the sidewalks they use...

….and organize the data to allow city public works departments to review and prioritize maintenance!

    Sidewalker's objectives are to:

    • Empower an individual to take action to survey their own sidewalks
    • Provide local governments a platform to manage their city’s sidewalks
