Biography

Ryan Liu currently works at Google focusing on YouTube in the engineering product space and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In his previous role, he was a Principal at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a leader in Booz Allen's Commercial consulting practice, Ryan has over a decade of security and privacy experience consulting for Fortune Global 500 clients across multiple industry sectors. Having led numerous globally complex, large-scale cybersecurity transformation programs and initiatives, he also engages senior leaders to craft effective communications strategies and compelling stories for C-suite and Board-level briefings to successfully manage the multidimensional challenges of security and privacy.

Ryan received two Bachelors of Science (B.Sc.) degrees from University of the Pacific in electrical engineering and engineering management. He also received his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from University of California, Berkeley. Professional certifications include:

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) from IAPP;
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA;
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)2; and,
  • Certified Executive Coach from the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute.
