The Synthetix system is a comprehensive privacy and protection solution meant to deter data collection and tracking. The application enabling anonymity and safe online activities simply through a user’s web browser. Synthetix creates unlimited email addresses and synthetic information fields to protect the user’s private information. In addition the system secures browsing and online activities to mitigate phishing, and cyber threats including: ransomware, malware, advertisers, and data theft. Synthetix includes Machine Learning technology for intelligent profiling, AES standards and Honey encryptions for robust password authentication and personal information security.Lastly the system incorporates a privacy analyzer and k-anonymity processing to best address the authenticity of the fictitious profile.
The project’s idea is to create a synthetic, fictitious internet profile for private online activities and browsing. This would allow using the internet anonymously, without leaving a digital footprint or being tracked. Users would be able to create a profile with fictitious information, including a name, email address The user would also be able to choose to create their own synthetic profile or use a machine learning model to auto-generate an on-the-fly fictitious profile. This would provide an extra layer of security for the user, as their real identity would remain hidden. This would allow the user to tailor their browsing experience to their own personal needs.
Problem Definition
Synthetix believes online browsing has increasingly become a necessity for human movement and interaction. However, inputted information is being leveraged against users threatening their autonomy and safety. We want to combat online browsing tracking, simply and securely. We believe in putting power back into the user’s keyboard because privacy is a human right. Solution
The Synthetix solution for privacy and data protection allows users to protect their online presents while maintaining a centralized authentication experience. By using a synthetic internet profile, users can ensure online activities will not leave a digital footprint or ability to be tracked. Synthetix works as a browser extension on web pages, acting in the background automatically once the browser is launched. Once the user logins into various accounts, Synthetix identifies a login mechanism and asks the user’s permission to activate synthetic profiling. Upon receiving user permission, Synthetix stores the page’s details and creates a synthetic profile on-the-fly. Upon any future user’s visit, Synthetix remembers the site’s details and automatically suggests using a synthetic profile.
The current product consists of an extension design, mock-up landing page, account manager, and tech stack equipped with AES standards and Honey encryption to ensure robust passwords and authentication. To improve our product and anticipate future privacy concerns, the Synthetix team plans to go a step further by investing in AI research and legal consideration. AI can significantly enhance cybersecurity privacy by helping individuals and organizations detect and respond to threats more quickly and accurately, as well as identifying vulnerabilities and other potential security risks.
