Digital Wardrobe Stylist

Fashion has a huge waste problem exacerbated by an increase in buying but decrease in garment utilization. This trend contributes to 85% of textile waste or ~78 million tonnes of waste per year, ending up in landfills globally. Using images of apparel from the user’s existing closet and fashion images from Instagram, we are applying apparel object recognition and recommendation techniques to inspire adult women to increase utilization of existing clothing while reducing consumption of fast fashion.
