Biography

My background is primarily computer networking, UNIX, and software engineering. Prior to UC Berkeley I worked for networking equipment vendors in the US and Europe writing software, breaking networking equipment and helping customers [design|implement|secure|troubleshoot|break|breach] data and voice networks. I have about 15 years experience in this area with 9 years of it at Extreme Networks. I enjoy complaining about ICANN, coredumps and packet generators.

I grew up up in Virginia and got my bachelors in Software Engineering from James Madison University in 2000. In 2002 I moved to Utrecht, The Netherlands where I managed to acquire Dutch citizenship, a new language and a wonderful wife. We both wanted a new adventure so from the land of infinite rain to the land of golden bears we came.

I'm the author of Hexcap, a libpcap hex editor, packet generator, and interactive capturing tool. http://www.hexcap.org/
