The International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies and Development (ICTD2006) was held in Berkeley on May 25th and 26th, 2006. The first academic conference for researchers designing information and communication technologies for developing economies, it was attended by more than 150 researchers from around the world. Conference sponsors included Microsoft Research India, Siemens Corporate Technology, China and the UC Berkeley School of Information.
