Academics

Class Registration

UC Berkeley students register for classes in CalCentral; log in and go to the “My Academics” tab, where you will find enrollment information.

New MIDS students are typically able to register starting 4 weeks before classes begin (or late July for 5th Year MIDS students). Please consult your Student Support advisor for the date and time that registration will open for you. Note that you must sign your Statement of Intent to Register before registering for classes.

Upcoming Data Science Course Schedules

Data Science 203

Waiver Exam:
The place-out waiver process for DATASCI 203 is for students who have very strong existing statistical knowledge. The place-out exam will be available for a short time window shortly before the class registration period for each entering cohort; passing the exam allows you to skip 203 entirely. Waiving 203 does not waive you out of those 3 units needed to complete the program. Rather, it is an opportunity for you to use those units in another advanced course in a future term.
