MIMS Final Project 2006

Mycroft

Mycroft is a network that allows thousands of people to collaborate on large, complex jobs. Mycroft takes those large jobs and breaks them down into many small, individual questions and tasks that a single contributor can complete in only a few seconds. By putting together thousands of small contributions completed by many individual contributors, it’s possible to create a powerful system for generating knowledge. Mycroft makes use of the web space that is normally used for advertising as a mechanism for distributing these small questions and collecting the results. The interaction is designed so that a user can complete questions and tasks inside of the Mycroft banner, without ever having to leave the web page hosting that banner.
