Adding the Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Science Plan

If you are pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Science, you must officially add the certificate on CalCentral before submitting the required completion application.

In addition to adding the certificate on CalCentral, all students must submit the required completion application in the second half of the semester in which they complete the certificate requirements.

These instructions do not apply to students at Berkeley Law or in joint UCSF-UC Berkeley programs.

Priority Enrollment for INFO 201

Students who have already added the certificate plan in CalCentral may receive priority enrollment for INFO 201. While we do our best to provide priority enrollment, enrollment is not guaranteed.

How to Add/Declare the Certificate Plan

  1. Log in to CalCentral.
  2. From My Dashboard, on the Student Resources card under Submit and Manage eForms, select eForms Center.

  3. Select the Graduate Academic Plan Change eForm.
  4. Once the form opens, use the dropdown menu under Request Type to select Add Plan.

  5. The Select New Plan section will appear. In the New Plan box, type 00OPT2011G and then click the magnifying glass.

  6. Click on the certificate name.
  7. Click Submit.

Your add plan request will be routed to both your program/graduate advisor and the School of Information for approval. We strongly recommend that you reach out to your program/graduate advisor to let them know you have submitted the add plan request based on the instructions provided

If you add the plan and no longer intend to pursue the certificate, follow these instructions to remove the plan.
