Biography
Xavier Malina is a Lead Imagineer in Research & Development at Walt Disney Imagineering, where he works at the intersection of applied robotics, generative AI, and advanced fabrication.
Previously, Xavier led the AI team at Ai Build, launching the industry’s first Large Language Model (LLM) product for 3D printing. He spent nearly five years at Google and Nest as a Data Scientist and served as a lecturer on Data Visualization at UC Berkeley’s School of Information.
Uniquely, Xavier combines deep technical expertise with a background in public service, having worked on the 2008 Obama Presidential Campaign and served in the Obama White House.
Beyond the screen, he is a maker and artist who creates generative sculptures using industrial 3D printing and bronze casting. He holds a Master’s in Information Management and Systems from UC Berkeley and a BA from Tufts University.
