Ram Balasubramanian most recently served as VP, Analytics, Data Strategy & Reporting at Marriott international. As the head of Analytics, Data Strategy & Reporting, Ram led Marriott’s transformation into a data-focused, analytically driven organization. His team's mission was to make data readily accessible for all levels in the company, and implement cutting-edge analytics to improve the effectiveness of Marriott’s marketing, loyalty, sales, and digital activities. During his 14 years at Marriott, Ram has held various roles in pricing, distribution strategy, and revenue analysis. Prior to his most recent role, Ram led the revenue maximization function for the Select Service & Extended Stay hotels Division in the Americas from 2012-2014.
Ram started his career in the travel industry working for US Airways from 1996-2002, holding various roles in analytics and revenue management. He has a Masters degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona and his undergraduate education was in Engineering and Math from BITS Pilani in India.
Ram lives with his wife and two young boys in Rockville, MD and in his free time enjoys gardening and coaching youth sports.
