Most of my career has been focused in the area of eCommerce and digital marketing at software companies, from Intuit to Symantec.
My most recent position was at a data analytics start-up. As one of the first ten employees, I worked closely with the data science and data engineering teams. In this position, I was exposed to big data and macine learning, and a whole new world opened up to me.
Naturally analytical (even as a child), I decided to pursue a career change into data science.
Participation in UC Berkeley's Master of Information and Data Science program is the culmination of a year spent learning python, a 12-week part-time data science course in SF, and attending/networking at over 18 data science meet-ups in the Bay Area.
I also have a passion for traveling off the beaten path. In the summer of 2016, I went into remote areas of the Gobi Desert in Mongolia and, separately, followed the Silk Road through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
