Biography

I have been working in data management and BI analytics space for 14 years.  My five-years career goal is to become a data science expert to lead any business to maintain its competitive advantage.

I am currently an Enterprise Information Architect at Andeavor, a Fortune 100 oil and gas refining, marketing and logistics company in Texas.

I’m leading the data team (on shore and off shore) to provide technical solution for Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), analytics, data conversion, data quality and governance.  Data team owns HANA, Hadoop and SAP IQ backend, the integration process using Data Services and webMethods and the visualization technology using PowerBI and Lumera.   I have gained solid experience through entire life cycle of data management, and I’m passionate of enabling data as a key element of strategic decision making process and driving a successful business.

In the past two years, Andeavor has built a cloud based Enterprise Data Warehouse and leveraged the capability to enable BI analytics and self-service reporting.  As part of the architecture team, we are planning on a Digital Platform initiative to provide the predictive capability.   I will be playing an important role in this effort.  Our Digital Platform Architecture will consist of backend Hadoop and PI;  Enterprise Data Warehouse as single source of truth; Data Science model will be created on top of it to provide the predictive capability; and finally self Service visualization.

I am a firm believer of data driven decision making process.  Data Science and Big Data are crucial for the success of any business.  With the Data Science skills and data knowledge insight, data scientist will become a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the management of the company.  I believe MIDS program will be the key to the success of my future career.
