Biography

Background
I was born in Glendora, California but grew up in Hoosick Falls, a rural farmtown in Upstate New York. I went to undergrad at the University of Denver in Colorado and studied Computer Engineering. My research dealt with creating an intrusion detection system that could distinguish between various cyber attacks and their benign counterparts via machine learning. I currently work as a Software Applications Engineer in Vermont.
Interests
I played a lot of basketball and lacrosse growing up. I also enjoy hiking as much as possible in my free time. I have done a few of the high peaks in Upstate NY as well as some of the "14ers" in Colorado. In terms of the MICS program, I am really interested in gaining a better understanding of cryptography and pen testing.
