Current Research
Alex Hughes researches how group identity shapes political access and how social connections shape political behavior. In my current project, I examine how voters’ group identity shapes electoral services they receive, specifically access to the ballot on Election Day. My research has been published in The Lancet, The Proceedings of the National Academies of Science, Perspectives on Politics, and field journals. At the School of Information, I teach courses on experiment design and foundational statistics.
