Biography

My research primarily lies at the crossroads of language and visual data representation. Design choices in text elements of information visualizations have large impacts on the interpretation and understanding of the data displayed. I aim to equip designers with insights and recommendations that leverage text as an essential tool for effective visual data communication.

Previously, I received my B.A. in Psychology & Gender Studies from Northwestern University, advised by Steve Franconeri and Cindy Bearfield (now at Georgia Tech).
