Brandon Castaing

I grew up in a rural town south of Portland, Oregon, and have spent the last four years building software applications for connected devices.  During my time with HP Instant Ink as a software engineer, I pursued and cultivated my interest in statistics, machine learning, and data science.  I recognized that my aspirations lie in deriving actionable information from data whether it be from telemetry sensors, supplied by customers, or anywhere in between.  Today, I am overwhelmingly excited to be a graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley in the MIDS program.  My expected graduation date is May of 2020.
