CLTC Seminar Series

Indigenous-led Security and Digital Safety

Tuesday, February 11, 2020
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

The rights of Indigenous people and their lands and territories are under increased threat around the world. In response, Indigenous communities and those working with them to support their security must develop innovative ways to connect communities with urgent security support during emergencies – a process complicated by an increasing number of threats to digital safety.

Join the presenters as they talk about their work to develop an Indigenous-led security fund in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Presenters

  • Daniel Kobei, the Ogiek Peoples’ Development Programme
  • Jemimah Kerenge, director, Enkishon Indigenous Initiative
  • Casey Box, Land is Life
  • Sean Brooks, UC Berkeley’s Citizen Clinic (moderator)

A light lunch will be served.
