Panelists

Pierce Coggins, current MIDS student, is the Business Operations Manager at Figure Eight. He previously worked at M&C Saatchi Mobile as a Strategist and Data Analyst, and was the President of Engineers without Borders USA. 

Priya Gupta, MIDS '17, has spent the last 5 years using data to drive business value and influence product strategy. Since graduating from the MIDS program, she has processed terabytes of data to help solve advertising tech issues at Yahoo and has deployed machine learning models to support various teams at ThousandEyes. 

Will Hawkins, current MIDS student, is a Data Scientist at Eventbrite in San Francisco. Prior to working at Eventbrite, Will studied Computer Science at UC Santa Barbara and co-founded a machine learning software startup called StatSoup, which was acquired by Eventbrite in 2018. In addition to his interests in data science and tech entrepreneurship, Will is a life-long musician and recently started part-time work at Zoo Labs, a music entrepreneurship accelerator and recording studio in Oakland.

Daniel Kent, current MIDS student, is the co-founder of Jobwell.co. He was previously a Senior Manager at LegalZoom.com's R&D team and a Google Policy Fellow. Coming from a social sciences and business background, he has especially enjoyed his time in MIDS gaining deeper technical skills and diving into the practical applications of Data Science and Machine Learning, particularly as they apply to entrepreneurship. His team's capstone project, Lysten, created a chatbot to facilitate a better feedback system for virtual classes.
