Design Workshop: Designing for Inclusivity in Tech

Saturday, February 10, 2018
10:00 am to 4:30 pm

For School of Information students

Join us for a one-day design workshop and challenge on the topic of diversity and inclusion in the tech field. With diversity and inclusion being a forefront issue in 2017, we want to continue the momentum towards tangible solutions for making the tech field more inclusive.

Invited speakers will share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on diversity and inclusion.

The workshop will guide students through various design activities to tackle a challenge of designing a solution (product, service, program, etc.) that can help widen inclusion in the tech field. Students will learn techniques in identifying a problem, generating ideas, and telling the story of a potential solution.

A light breakfast will be available starting at 9:30 am. Lunch provided.

Sponsored by the Information Management Student Association (IMSA) and the School of Information student affairs. Organized by Michelle Chen, Ching-Yi Lin, Lily Lin, and Michelle Peretz.
