6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

The Nest Business Analytics team supports decision making at Nest across sales, marketing, and operations. The team strives to maintain a company-wide perspective, communicate information not data, facilitate good business decisions, and build world-class self-serve reporting and analysis tools.

In this information session, Harry Tannenbaum (head of business analytics) and Xavier Malina (data architect and curator, MIMS 2015) will give an informal presentation on what it's like to be a practitioner of analytics inside a fast-growing hardware startup company. During this session, Harry and Xavier will provide a glimpse inside the Nest Business Analytics team structure, share analytics best practices, and discuss how data visualization and tools like Tableau are leveraged to help drive decision-making across the company.

The Analytics team currently has an internship role open summer 2016 and is looking for qualified individuals with experience in any of the following : analytics, data visualization, machine learning, user experience research, business intelligence and related fields. Applicants are encouraged to send their resume to xmalina@nestlabs.com, as there may be an opportunity for short interviews at South Hall before the info session.

The analytics team currently also has a full-time role available for retail analytical lead; see the job description here:
