It works for marketing. It works for finance. And now, big data and predictive analytics are working for HR.

In this session, Dr. Michael Housman will talk about how some of the best companies in the world are leveraging insights from their people analytics to build better workforces.

Michael Housman is the chief analytics officer at Evolv, Inc. where he applies state-of-the-art statistical methodologies and econometric techniques to databases of hundreds of millions of employee records, in order to answer two fundamental questions: (1) what keeps people on the job longer?; and (2) what allows them to perform better?

Dr. Housman has over ten years of experience utilizing data analytics to generate insight and then working directly with stakeholders to put the findings into practice. He has consulted for PricewaterhouseCoopers and helped to develop a SaaS platform for Pascal Metrics, Inc. a leading provider patient safety and risk management services to hospitals and healthcare systems worldwide. He has published his work in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, presented his work at dozens of academic and practitioner-oriented conferences, and has had his research profiled by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and The Atlantic. He was named a 2014 game changer by Workforce magazine for his groundbreaking research and contributions to the field of workforce science. Dr. Housman received his A.M. and Ph.D. in applied economics and managerial science from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his A.B. from Harvard University.
