This talk will introduce a framework for personality-targeted design, much like a medical treatment applied to a person based on her specific genetic profile. In a series of studies, we examine the effect of the interaction between personality traits and theory-driven UI features on users’ online behavior, and demonstrate the effectiveness of interactionist design.

Oded Nov is an assistant professor of management at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. from Tel Aviv University. His research interests include motivational and social aspects of information systems, social computing, and internet-based citizen science.
