Evernote Hackathon Honors Students' App

Four School of Information MIMS students were awarded the “Hacker Award” in the 2014 Evernote Hackathon at UC Berkeley.

The event was sponsored by Evernote, which manufactures a suite of cross-platform software and services for notetaking and archiving. The hackathon challenged participants to extend the software’s core functionality with apps or add-ons that use Evernote’s API.

Second-year MIMS students Arezu Aghaseyedjavadi, Pablo Arvizu, Ramit Malhotra, and Timothy Meyers teamed up with computer-science undergraduate Shana Hu to develop the add-on tool TimeNote.

TimeNote facilitates group note-taking by syncronizing individual contributions into one master set of notes and letting members copy notes from their group to their own notebook. TimeNote would allow students to stay up-to-date on their class notes, for example, and fill in gaps they might have missed.
