Scrolis: Scroll less, see more.

Information overload in social media is not just about seeing too much content. The combination of high volume and algorithmic curation makes it harder for users to form a balanced understanding of the world and erodes informed decision-making. This shows up in two closely connected ways: echo chambers, where users see only a narrow range of perspectives, and doomscrolling, where endless feeds encourage compulsive, low-quality consumption.

Drawing on our research, user interviews, and prototype testing, we developed Scrolis, a social media companion designed for the “mindful/informed scroller,” someone who wants a healthier, more intentional way to consume content without giving up choice or leaving their existing platforms. Scrolis aims to make content consumption feel more bounded, balanced, and satisfying, while broadening perspective awareness and helping users feel better informed.
