Biography

Current Research

Brooks focuses on the measurement of boundaries in social and cultural organizations using relational data from the arts and sciences and from the entertainment industry. His dissertation applies network community detection and survival analysis methods to a century's worth of citation data to study the stratification and longevity of research fields in the social sciences in the 20th century. His interests include classical sociological theory and social science pedagogy.
