UC Berkeley's "I School" to Offer Online Master's in Data Science

According to the McKinsey Global Institute, the United States may face a shortage of as many as 140,000 to 190,000 data scientists in the coming years. The predicted shortage could leave U.S. companies woefully unprepared to capture big data's potential, analyze it, and use it to make key decisions within their organization. UC Berkeley's Master of Information and Data Science is geared specifically toward students who want to work in data science. The degree program blends live classes, interactive self-paced coursework, and project-based learning in order to teach students to work with large amounts of real-world data.
