Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic Information Session for MICS Students
The UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic (CYBER 289*) is a public-interest cybersecurity course that supports the capacity of politically-targeted organizations to defend themselves against online threats.
Join us to learn more about the Cybersecurity Clinic, meet the staff and former students, discuss enrollment in the course, and learn what to expect when taking the course.
The UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic is the first public interest cybersecurity clinic of its kind. The clinic, sponsored by the Berkeley School of Information and the Berkeley Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity (CLTC), provides interdisciplinary teams of students with hands-on experience developing and implementing cybersecurity practices for organizations more susceptible to ideologically motivated threats.
Examples of student projects include:
- Protecting the LGBT community from online extremist groups
- Improving the safety of human rights advocates during high-risk investigations
- Understanding government surveillance of indigenous communities in Latin America
