Virtual National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Convention

The UC Berkeley School of Information will be hosting a table at the Virtual National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Convention. Please stop by our virtual career fair booth on Thursday, August 20 and Friday, August 21 from 9 am–2 pm Pacific Time to meet the following I School faculty, students, and alumni:

Professor Coye Cheshire will be at our booth on Thursday and Friday 11 am–12 pm. His research focuses on computer-mediated communication, data science, and social and cultural studies. He is especially interested in the social aspects of computer networks and information exchange systems, including risk, uncertainty, trust, and cooperation. He teaches Info 294 Doctoral Research and Theory Workshop and Info 271B Quantitative Research Methods for Information Systems and Management.

Lecturer Kay Ashaolu will be at our booth on Thursday 9:30–10:30 am, and on Friday from 10-11am. His focus is user interface design, service design, and how to create great products that offer complete user experience and that address a user pain and need. As a Senior Software Engineer at Ancestry.com, he helps build the systems that process customers' DNA to discover their genetic ethnicity. He teaches Info 253A Front-End Web Architecture and Info W18 Python Fundamentals for Data Science.

Jade Clarke, MIMS ’22, will be at our booth on Thursday and Friday 9–11 am. Jade graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BS in Engineering. She is currently a Project Engineering Intern at Second Avenue Subway Project.

Vivian Omondi, MIMS ’22, will be at our booth on Friday from 9 am–12 pm. Vivian graduated from the University of Nairobi with a BS in Computer Science. During the MIMS program, she hopes to focus on Machine Learning, UX Design, and Product Management. She is currently a Software Engineer and Product Manager at Crediation.

Danon Price, current MIDS student, will be at our booth on Friday 9–11 am and 12–2 pm. Danon graduated from Drexel University with an MBA in Information Systems Strategy. He is currently a Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineer at Aerospace Systems, Northrop Grumman Corporation.

Darian Worley, MIDS ’21, will be at our booth on Thursday 12–2 pm and Friday 9–11 am. Darian graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He currently works at the Coca Cola Company as the Director of SAP S4 Hana Supply Chain Enterprise Data Lead.
