Fall 2020 California Forum for Diversity in Graduate Education

The UC Berkeley School of Information will be hosting a table at the Fall 2020 California Forum for Diversity in Graduate Education. This will be a wonderful opportunity to speak to a member of the admissions team to discuss the I School's degree programs. 

Please stop by our virtual career fair booth to meet the I School faculty and students:

  • Thursday, October 15, 10:00 am – 2 pm
  • Friday, October 16, 10:00 am – 2 pm

Assistant Professor David Bamman will be at our booth on Thursday and Friday, October 15 and 16, 10–11 am. He teaches Info 190:Computational Humanities. His focus interests include natural language processing, computational social science, machine learning, digital humanities. Earlier this year, Professor Bamman’s work using machine learning and data science for literary analysis received considerable attention in the Journal of Cultural Analytics, the media, and across the Twitter-sphere.

Esther Jan, MIMS ’21, will be at our booth on Friday, October 16, from 10–11 am. She is focusing on UX design and human-computer interaction. For the past four years, Esther has worked as an architectural designer in multi-disciplinary studios. She has taken part in projects of different scales, ranging from residential interior to office architectures and urban development. During the summer, she interned as a product design intern at VMware. Through her work, Esther hopes to enhance people's experiences within space, as well as, provoke further interactions and communications amongst human beings.
