MICS Program Manager

The School of Information is now seeking a Program Manager for a new Master of Information and Cybersecurity program.

The School is actively planning to launch a new online professional degree in 2018: the Master of Information and Cybersecurity (MICS). The Program Manager will independently oversee the MICS program and coordinate between I School stakeholders (e.g., faculty and staff) to expand the program while maintaining high quality instruction and intellectual rigor. Build faculty support and engagement for program, work with faculty to design and develop major program components, and administer the full range of the program's operational requirements. Coordinate closely with our private sector partner, 2U, to optimize student experience and content delivery. Ensure that 2U continues to provide a high level of service in revenue generation and marketing efforts. Work with I School staff to formulate planning and procedures for evaluating and scaling the MICS program while maintaining quality. Work under direction of the Dean to establish program strategy and funding objectives.

Responsibilities

25% — Provide leadership and oversight for MICS program with focus on high quality student experience and leading edge curriculum. Ensure that our program vendor, 2U, provides a high level of service, and oversee their revenue generation and marketing efforts.

25% — Develop and manage processes for the recruitment, onboarding and retention of adjunct faculty, postdocs and lecturers to develop and teaching MICS courses. Institute and maintain an ongoing faculty development program focused on online teaching practices and the use of educational technologies.

20% — Manage collaborative course design and development processes, engaging with our partner 2U and supporting faculty to create new high quality online courses. Collaborate with faculty to define learning objectives, interactions and activities to enhance online course offerings.

10% — Implement and maintain online course and curriculum quality review processes focused on student outcomes and aligned with I School goals and accreditation requirements.

10% — Collaborate with Student Affairs to assess program's effectiveness and recommend changes to program's content, policies and procedures accordingly.

10% — Collaborate with External Relations to determine external media placement opportunities for faculty. Work with professionals across the university as well as corporate partners to expand the scope and impact of the MICS program.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and experience working in cybersecurity or closely related field (Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Information management, Analytics, etc.).

  • Experience providing management and oversight for multi-stakeholder organizations.

  • Demonstrated project and team management skills.

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.

  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.

  • Advanced ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education (especially in course design, development, and quality improvement) strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience and history of planning, designing, developing, implementing, managing and growing technology-based learning programs in either academic or professional settings desired.

  • Graduate degree in cybersecurity, computer science or closely-related field, plus 7+ years relevant experience.

The salary range designated for this position: $110,000 – $150,000. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience.
