I School News

The UC Berkeley School of Information stands as a global bellwether. We boldly lead with education and fundamental research that translates into new knowledge, practices, policies, and solutions. Our graduates go on to shape the companies, policies, and technologies that define how people relate to information — and to each other. Today is Big Give, UC Berkeley’s annual 24-hour fundraising blitz, and we’re asking you personally to stand with us.

Announced in 2025, the UC Berkeley School of Information’s Bellwether Postdoctoral Scholar Program is a two-year postdoctoral scholarship supporting promising early-career researchers across information disciplines. Part of Dean Eric Meyer’s vision to position the I School as a true bellwether — a leader that anticipates and shapes what's to come — the program advances future-facing research with impact on campus, for the public, and globally. Scholars Dang Nguyen, Denis Peskoff, Nel Escher, and Svenja Guhr have joined the I School to work with distinguished faculty members in research related to AI, NLP, law, and more.
