> Research Overview
Research by faculty members and doctoral students keeps the iSchool on the vanguard of contemporary information needs and solutions. To facilitate the transformation of information into knowledge, our research incorporates insights into the social, aesthetic, and technical design of information systems. Current faculty projects include developing user-friendly interfaces, new approaches to security and privacy, economically informed design of peer-to-peer networks, and context-aware mobile media technology. Meanwhile, our Ph.D. candidates — often in collaboration with faculty members — are conducting research to advance the fields of information search, retrieval, organization, use, and policy. Both faculty and Ph.D. research projects demonstrate the iSchool's hallmark interdisciplinary perspective. | |
