Sustainable Impact at the Bottom of the Pyramid

The  Bottom  of  Pyramid  (BOP)  model  proposed  by  renowned academician  C.K.  Prahlad  has received  a  lot  of  attention  recently. This model has been lauded as a win-win situation for private enterprises as well as consumers living on $2 or less a day. However, empirically, this model is far from proven. Several stories in the field refute the very fundamentals of the model. Our aim is to study, analyze and propose a revised model which incorporates a well rounded solution addressing the existing issue  of  creating  an  impact  while  addressing  the  concerns associated with this space.

This paper will address the 4 key areas of business, consumer behaviour, information asymmetry and policy.
