Information and
Service Design (ISD)
The Information and Service Design program was established at the UC
Berkeley School of Information in 2007 to provide a focus for teaching
and research on the skills and concepts required by a services-led and
information-powered economy.
Information and Communication
Technologies and Development (ICTD)
Research on ICTD at the School of Information follows
several distinct trajectories:
- First, to understand current processes of technology
diffusion and adoption in developing regions.
- Second, to act through the design and deployment of
information systems in close collaboration with the communities they
are meant to support.
- Finally, to reshape the dialogue about the role of
technology in reshaping global economic and political processes.
Management of Technology
(MOT)
Management of Technology is a certificate program for graduate students
at UC Berkeley. Through MOT, the largest interdisciplinary program on
campus, students have the opportunity to attend courses relating to
management issues in high tech fields offered by the Haas School of
Business, the College of Engineering, the School of Information and
other campus schools.
By taking 2 core and 6 units of related MOT classes with a grade of
B or above, students can earn the certificate as they earn their
master's or Ph.D. degrees. MOT offers more than 60 courses, allowing
students to tailor their coursework to enhance their research
interests.
