Mara Hancock, director, Educational Technology Services, UC Berkeley

The Technology, Information, and Education Seminar Series is sponsored by the School of Information and the Center for Next Generation Teaching and Learning.

The monthly seminars provide a platform for the exchange of research ideas, experiences, and approaches about the use of technology in education; build linkages among campus groups and off-campus groups; and present opportunities to partner and study technology use in education.

Mara Hancock is the director of Educational Technology Services (ETS) at UC Berkeley. ETS serves the UC Berkeley campus community by providing classroom technology services and online tools to support teaching, learning, and collaborative endeavors; ETS is committed to the pursuit of innovative educational technology projects to improve the teaching and learning experience at Berkeley and around the world. ETS has been an active participant in the Fluid Project and the Sakai Project and is now leading the Opencast Project — all open-source, community-developed products for higher education.
