Salary Information

Spring 2010
GSI monthly pay depends upon your appointment title and appointment percentage. For Spring 2010, multiply the percentage appointment by $3327.40 to calculate the monthly gross pay (for a GSI Step I). Full semester appointments are paid for five full months. We expect to appoint GSIs teaching a 3-unit upper-division course at 50% time. For a 50% full semester appointment, the monthly gross pay would be $1663.70 ($3327.40 * 50%), and the total gross pay would be $8318.50 ($1663.70 * 5).

Summer 2010
GSI monthly pay depends upon your appointment title and appointment percentage.  All Summer 2010 courses will be offered in one of the two six-week summer sessions.  Due to the compressed nature of the summer sessions, the pay is based on $24.47 per hour (for a GSI Step I).  We expect to be able to appoint GSIs teaching a 3-unit upper-division course at 100% time for the six weeks. All summer salary decisions are subject to the approval of the Summer Sessions office.  For a 100% six-week appointment, the total gross pay would be $5872.80 ($24.47/hr * 40 hrs * 6 wks).
